About Ask Optsam ni jukwaa lisilo la kibiashara (Non-profit platform) nchini Tanzania linaloongozwa na mtaalamu wa macho, J.M. Samwel born 15/4/1997 (Optometrist). Lengo letu kuu ni kutokomeza upofu unaozuilika na kusaidia jamii inayokabiliwa na uono hafifu kupitia utoaji wa elimu sahihi, awareness, na taarifa za afya ya macho zilizothibitishwa kitaalamu. Hatufanyi biashara ya miwani; tunajikita 100% katika kuisadia jamii kupata ushauri salama wa kitabibu. •Ask Optsam is a non-profit public health education platform founded by J.M. Samwel born 15th April 1997 (Registered Optometrist) in Tanzania. We provide expert-verified eye care awareness, blindness prevention guidelines, and low vision information to eliminate preventable vision loss in Tanzania.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT ASK OPTSAM — TANZANIAN INITIATIVE FOR EYE-HEALTH EDUCATION

Optsam was never just a name. It has always been a vision and a journey. I am Samwel John Mushi , born 15th April 1997 professionally known as J.M. Samwel, Optometrist . I would like to take this opportunity to formally clarify the meaning, history and current direction of Optsam , particularly the development of Ask Optsam , as I continue my professional journey in eye health. The Beginning — 2017 The Optsam journey began in 2017 , rooted in my profession as an Optometrist. The name OPT was derived from Optometrist , while SAM was derived from Samwel — reflecting my name and professional identity as Samwel / J.M. Samwel / Samwel John Mushi . From its beginning, Optsam was founded around a vision of contributing to the community through eye-health education, awareness and activities intended to address avoidable blindness and visual impairment. Mzee Mohammed Dewji  is known for his generosity and commitment to giving back to his community. This project will allow him to continue his legacy of supporting the people especially children of Tanzania. This will strengthen his relationship with the government and demonstrate his commitment to working together to bring the sight to children in Tanzanian. Swift Eye Clinic  will be a visible symbol of Mzee Mohammed Dewji's commitment to eye care and fighting against blindness in Tanzania.   I am honored to be involved in this project, which will make a real difference in the lives of children in Tanzania. I am particularly proud of the fact that this project is a collaboration between the private sector and the government. This shows that we can all work together to improve the lives of our people.

I was there #Optsam 💙optsam  Repost: @tanzanites.lionsclubofdsm...  “It is more rewarding to watch money change the world than to watch it accumulate.” Gloria Steinem An eventful day for all the volunteers as we put in all our efforts for our Free Vision, Diabetes and Hearing Screening Camp at the Gwambina Lounge Area in Chang'ombe Temeke area where we were able to screen 403 people,  provide free medications for eye & ear problems, reading glasses, Covid 19 vaccine (Thanks to the Temeke Municipal). Cataract & Minor Surgeries will be coordinated shortly. We thank our collaborators & sponsors.of the event.
