A Community-Oriented, Non-Profit Innovation Initiative

1. Our Identity and Purpose

Optsam AI Models & Apps is an innovation initiative developed from the original community-oriented vision of Optsam, founded by J.M. Samwel, and further advanced through collaboration with Co-Founder J.M. Emmanuel.

Our primary purpose is to explore, develop and promote AI-powered technologies, digital applications and assistive solutions that address community needs, particularly in eye health, visual impairment, accessibility and the independence of people living with blindness and low vision.

Our innovation is driven by social impact, not commercial product sales.

2. We Are Not a Gadget or Eyewear Retail Business

We wish to make it clear that Optsam AI Models & Apps was not established to operate as a commercial shop for selling:

Smart glasses or ordinary prescription glasses.

Electronic gadgets and wearable devices.

AI-powered assistive equipment.

Other innovative hardware products developed under the Optsam vision.

The development of these technologies represents our commitment to finding practical solutions to community challenges, rather than establishing a conventional product-selling business.

3. Our Position on Commercial Use and Business Partnerships

Although Optsam AI Models & Apps is founded on a non-profit-oriented, community-benefit vision, we recognise that technology may have applications within the private sector.

Therefore, any company, organisation, investor or commercial institution interested in adopting, integrating, licensing, distributing, reproducing or commercially utilising technologies, applications, models or innovations developed under Optsam must first consult and obtain appropriate authorisation from the founders:

J.M. Samwel — Founder

J.M. Emmanuel — Co-Founder

Commercial use, licensing, intellectual property rights, partnerships and other business arrangements must be discussed and agreed upon with the founders before implementation.

No organisation should automatically assume that an Optsam innovation is freely available for independent commercial exploitation.

4. Our Commitment to the Community

We believe technology should create opportunities, improve accessibility and address real human challenges.

Our long-term ambition is to contribute to a future where people with visual impairments can benefit from technological advancements without unnecessary barriers.

We want our innovations to support:

Accessibility for blind and low-vision communities.

Better access to eye-health information.

AI-assisted visual support.

Affordable and inclusive technological solutions.

Collaboration with health professionals and relevant institutions.

Community development through responsible innovation.

5. Our Founding Philosophy

Optsam is more than a technological identity.

It is a continuing vision that began with an interest in serving communities through eye health and has gradually evolved into digital innovation.

The establishment of Optsam AI Models & Apps represents another chapter in that journey.

We welcome responsible collaboration, research, institutional partnerships and opportunities that advance our community-oriented objectives.

However, we remain committed to protecting the founding vision, intellectual contributions and identity of Optsam.

Our position is simple:

We are developing technology to help people, not simply to sell products.

We welcome businesses that want to collaborate, but commercial utilisation of our innovations requires prior consultation and agreement with the founders.

Mzee Mohammed Dewji  is known for his generosity and commitment to giving back to his community. This project will allow him to continue his legacy of supporting the people especially children of Tanzania. This will strengthen his relationship with the government and demonstrate his commitment to working together to bring the sight to children in Tanzanian. Swift Eye Clinic  will be a visible symbol of Mzee Mohammed Dewji's commitment to eye care and fighting against blindness in Tanzania.   I am honored to be involved in this project, which will make a real difference in the lives of children in Tanzania. I am particularly proud of the fact that this project is a collaboration between the private sector and the government. This shows that we can all work together to improve the lives of our people.

Everyone, if they live long enough, will experience at least one eye condition in their lifetime that will require appropriate care.  Globally, at least 2.2 billion people have a vision impairment or blindness, of whom at least 1 billion have a vision impairment that could have been prevented or has yet to be addressed. Tens of millions have a severe vision impairment and could benefit from rehabilitation which they are not currently receiving.
